Mount Lumot is a popular hiking destination in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. It is known as the crash site of Cebu Pacific Flight 387 in 1998. Like its name, it is filled with mossy forests.

Mount Balatukan is a potentially active compound stratovolcano in Gingoog. When it last erupted is still unkown, and since then it has become home to a wide list of flora and fauna such as the Philippine Eagle, e Philippine civet cat, Philippine warty pig, Mindanao lorikeet, and a wide range of flora. The mountain range is part of a Convergence Area Development Plan (CADP) in order to help protect the species inhabiting it.

Located along the boundaries of Talakag-Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro lies the Sinulom Falls, whose multiple narrow cascades flow through a dense foliage and into a wide basin that beckons a swim. Guests may also enjoy a post-swim meal or snack at the Sinulom Restaurant, which is known for their suman and sikwate.

Museo de Oro offers visitors a glimpse at the folk culture and history of northern Mindanao. Located within Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, it is dubbed as the Philippines' first folkloric museum, which was founded in 1967 by Fr. Francisco Demetro, SJ.

It houses three main collections: The Ethnohistory of Northern Mindanao, The Ethnology of Mindanao, and the Fr. Francisco Demetrio SJ Gallery.

The Macahambus Cave is as much a historical site as it is a scenic tourist attraction. It is famous for being the site of the Battle of Macahambus Hill during the Philippine-American War in the 1900s. The cave attracts thrill-seekers who wish to witness a colony of bats living in the cave as well as tunnels leading to scenic views of the Cagayan de Oro River.
