The MacArthur Memorial Marker is recognized as a historical site by the National Historical Commission (NHC) of the Philippines. It commemorates the arrival of American General Arthur MacArthur in the city at Macabalan wharf during World War II era. The structure features the general's "scrambled egg and the five stars that represent his military ranking.

The Cagayan River or Cagayan de Oro River is one of the Philippines' most iconic whitewater rafting spots. It gets its waters from the Kalatungan Mountain Range and Kitanglad Mountain Range and flows through Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, and Lanao del Norte.
