Caraga contains a multitude of mosts. The region contains the site of the country's oldest Balangay (watercraft) found in the country, and some of the oldest and tallest trees. Its five provinces, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur are bounded by water (the Philippine Sea, Pacific Ocean, and Bohol Sea) and consists mostly of forestland surrounded by the provinces of Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental - which makes it accessible and exciting in several different ways, from scenic drives to archaeological tours, to sun-kissed island paradises and hidden springs and falls.

SOCCSKSARGEN stands for the region's four provinces and one highly urbanized city (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos). It is bounded on the north by Northern Mindanao, on the east by the Davao Region, and on the southwest by the Celebes Sea.

Mindanao's northern regions are marked by an abundance of forests, natural springs, high elevations, and a cool climate that nurtures a colorful range of agricultural products. Comprised of the provinces of Bukidnon, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Lanao del Norte, the region offers an exciting mix of wonders that range from eco-adventures to indigenous cultural treasures, historical landmarks and Spanish colonial remnants, mountain adventures and underwater escapades in the coastal northern provinces, and a vibrant urban and industrial city lifestyle in the highly urbanized cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro.

The region's location lends a fascinating mix of character, culture, and history to its governed provinces. Known as one of the centers of trade and commerce in Mindanao, its proximity to Sabah, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia has earned it the title of being the gateway to the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area or BIMP-EAGA. Its landscapes are home to some of the most unspoiled rugged terrains, bays, and islands dotting the fringes of the region that open out to Celebes Sea and Sulu Sea.

Eastern Visayas is nestled on the east central section of the Philippines. It consists of three main islands, Leyte, Biliran and Samar, which form the easternmost coasts of the archipelago.

Central Visayas isn't just at the geographical center of the Visayas island group. It's also a center for biodversity, history, and culture. A mix of pristine islands and old, bustling cities, this region has the most number of native Visayan speakers.
