Albay

Submitted by eric on Sun, 02/20/2022 - 00:22
Description

Albay's signature attraction is, undoubtedly, the majestic Mayon Volcano. While the nearly perfectly-shaped active volcano can also be seen from Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and Masbate, the 2,462 meters-high volcano is nestled in Albay's mountainous terrains. In 2016, the province was added to the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves because of its high conservation value, harboring precious wildlife in its marine and coastal ecosystems. The agricultural province is marked by fertile plains and valleys that set the stage for rugged outdoor adventures and scenic getaways.
