Metropolitan Museum of Manila Review
When the museum first opened its doors in 1976, it was originally poised to house the works of international artists in an effort to expose Filipinos to foreign visual arts. In 1986, it shifted its focus to showcase Filipino art instead, mainly through the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)'s pre-Hispanic and colonial collections. Today, the museum and BSP houses contemporary Filiipino and international art as part of its continued thrust to make art accessible for all.
